Crawford Bay BC is situated on the eastern shore of Kootenay Lake and can be reached by road and ferry from Nelson, or by road via Creston.

The Kootenay Valley is a playground of wilderness parks with many back roads and mountain trails for hiking, biking, viewing alpine flowers, wildlife and bird watching. Visitors enjoy visiting Kokanee Glacier Park and Pilot Point Lighthouse.

There are wetlands at Crawford Bay and these are a draw for bird-watchers. There is great fishing in Kootenay Lake, or visitors can enjoy canoeing, kayaking, swimming and snorkeling and playing at several golf courses, horseback riding or taking a Heritage Boat Tour of the lake.

Crawford Bay accommodations include resorts, cottages, motels, inns, cabins, campgrounds and RV parks.
