The historic Chilcotin Lodge is located in Riske Creek on Highway 20, 48 km west of Williams Lake and 417 km from Bella Coola on the Chilcotin Plateau. The lodge, built in 1940 as a hunting lodge, is one of the last remaining authentic lodging facilities in the Chilcotin.

The possibilities of "things to see and to do" in the Chilcotin are almost endless, so: stay for a few more days at our lodge, take a lunch pack and have some adventurous trips in the Chilcotin back country!!!

Some beautiful viewing highlights and day trips are:

Farwell Canyon, the Chilcotin river runs through a desert-like landscape: erosion created magnificent hoodoos and sand dunes; watch the local natives fish with dip nets for salmon in September and look for the pictographs on the rocks, or take a jet boat trip ( on the Fraser and Chilcotin river.

Junction sheep range park: this provincial park is a unique example of rolling grasslands in B.C., with a 4 wd vehicle it is possible to follow a public trail that leads to a view of the confluence of the Fraser and the Chilcotin rivers. The junction area is home to the largest population of non-migratory California bighorn sheep in B.C. Info: For more info about day trips call toll free :1-888-659-5688 1-250-659-5646

After a day of exploring the rugged chilcotin country , enjoy a gourmet dinner or just sit on the porch, have a look at the big sky country, then relax and read a book about the history of the Chilcotin and its people, in front of our stone fire-place.
