The City of Chilliwack is a large area at the eastern end of the Lower Fraser Valley in British Columbia. Located on a floodplain, Chilliwack BC has excellent land for farms and downtown Chilliwack has a farmers market open during the May to October period.
In the late 1850s, Chilliwack was influenced by the gold rush as many of the 30,000 miners passed through the town, which was incorporated in 1873, making it the third oldest town in British Columbia. However, 5,000 to 10,000 the Sto:lo (People of the River) made Chilliwack and the surrounding area their home.
