Courtenay BC is located on eastern Vancouver Island, 220 km (137 mi.) north of Victoria. Four season tourism is important to this areas as are logging, agriculture, mining and commercial fishing. Courtenay can be reached by the Esquimalt and Nanaimo Railway as well as by the Island Highway.
