Lilloet accommodations give visitors access to this historic town that is 325 km (202 mi.) northeast of Vancouver. This community shares the distinction with Lytton, B.C. 65 km (40 mi.) to the south, of being the hottest place in Canada. It is Mile 0 of the Gold Rush Trail and the gateway to the Cariboo Chilcotin Coast. It has a "cowboy country" atmosphere and there are many archaeological sites in the area. It is also known for its ginseng farms. There is a pioneer museum and visitors can pan for gold in the creeks around the town.
