Quesnel Map

Quesnel BC began as the center for the Cariboo gold rush in the 1860s. Located 660 km (422 mi.) north of Vancouver, today it is a bustling commercial centre serving over 27,000 people. As the gateway to the North Cariboo, it is a major recreational destination for those wanting to enjoy outdoor sports and recreational activities including fly fishing, canoeing, golf, downhill and cross-country skiing, horseback riding, snow shoeing, river rafting, hiking, biking or swimming.

One popular local attraction is the Quesnel Museum - home to one of the major collections of rare Chinese artifacts in North America.
