Sayward British Columbia is located on the east coast of Vancouver Island on the Johnstone Strait. Currently Sayward is a logging industry town, with growth occurring in tourism, which stars outdoor recreation such as caving, kayaking, hiking, whale and wild life viewing.

Kelsey Bay, located in Sayward, has a wharf that was once the southern terminus for the BC Ferries inside Passage route. This ended in 1978, at which point highway 19 was extended north to Port Hardy. The wharf is an excellent place to buy seafood off the boat; can't get it fresher.

In winter, Mount Cain Ski Resort is a 16 km (10 mi.) drive from Sayward on a gravel road (make sure to bring chains for the tires). For hikers, make sure to take the trail up Mount H'kusam, which is an 8 hour return trip to the summit, a peak of 1,603 m (5,261 ft.).

Sayward accommodations include motels, bed and breakfasts, campgrounds and inns.

By car, camper or motor home, we are 45 minutes north of Campbell River and 2 hours south of Port Hardy. Arriving from the south, turn right at the Sayward Junction and proceed about 400 meters. From the North, it is a left turn.
