Sooke accommodations offer the visitor an opportunity to explore this attractive community "where the rain forest meets the sea", overlooking Sooke Harbour, a half hour drive from Victoria on the southwest coast of Vancouver Island.

Whiffen Spit is a wildlife viewing area that shelters the harbour from the surf. Sooke is a tourist destination area and a residential community for Victoria. Logging and fishing continue to be important for its economy. Visitors enjoy hiking, fishing, biking, kayaking, canoeing and bird and wild life viewing. Nearby East Sooke Park is a popular hiking destination. Sooke has two major annual events - All Sooke Loggers' Day in July and a Fine Arts festival in August.
