The Ucluelet First Nations people are from the Nuu-Chah-Nulth people and the word 'ucluelet' means 'safe landing place'. Visitors enjoy world-class marine, forest and mountain playgrounds. Opportunities for whalepwatching kayaking, scuba diving, swimming, fishing, hiking, camping, sightseeing and more are available to the visitor. The giant gray whales can be seen in the area and tourists visit each spring to see their annual migration.
