Apex Mountain Resort

Only four and a half hours east of Vancouver, nestled in the Okanagan Valley is Apex Mountain Resort. With a view of the Apex Mountain Peak in the background, the resort is actually built on the wide face of Beaconsfield Mountain, that rises 2180 metres high.

Downhill skiers and snowboarders have all they can ask for here with 68 trails to chose from that vary from the easier green runs to the most challenging black diamond runs. But skiers and boarders are not the only ones attracted to this mountain. It offers cross-country skiing, an outdoor skating rink and outdoor Adventure Skating Loop. There is a tube park for children (and adults) of all ages and what could be easier? The moving sidewalk brings you back to the top of the hill. If you prefer showshoeing or snowmobiling you can do that too! Or consider climbing a solid 40 foot tower of ice! If you have small children that aren’t snow-friendly there is always the child minding service with lots of toys, activities and quality care.

Although the resort village of Apex maybe small in comparison to the large resort of Whistler, it still offers spas, restaurants, lunch areas, an arcade for children and teens, stores and pubs. If you find you really need something that’s not offered here, a quick trip to the City of Penticton is worth the travel.

Because Apex is situated over a wide area it doesn’t seem crowded, even at peak times like Spring Break. There are children, teens and adults all taking lessons and skiers and boarders all enjoying the vast terrain. There are visitors from across Canada, the United States and many from “down under”. At Apex, there is room for everyone!
