Come for a hike in the coastal forests!

Port Renfrew BC is located on the west coast of Vancouver Island and is the departure spot for hikers on the challenging 75 km (53 mi.) West Coast Trail, formerly a marine life saving trail that challenges the endurance of seasoned hikers from around the world.

Port Renfrew visitors also come to see Botanical Beach Provincial Park where you can enjoy studying the marine life of the area. At low tide the tidal pools provide a close up view of sea life. There are a number of marine trails leading from the beach. The Red Creek Fir, reputed to be the largest known Douglas Fir (Pseudotsuga menziesii) in the world is located in this area.

There are many local hiking trails and hiking maps are available. Port Renfrew accommodations include bed and breakfasts, cottages, cabins, motels, campgrounds and RV parks and lodges.

Featuring a private-beach, this Port Renfrew oceanfront lodge is a 90-minute drive from Victoria. After a day of on-site fishing, guests can relax with a game of pool. Simply furnished with warm décor, all rooms feature a private bathroom. Select rooms have mountain or sea views. A spacious patio complete with BBQ facilities is also the site of outdoor entertainment.
