Echo Bay accommodations are located about 30 miles northeast of Port McNeill and can only be reached by air or sea. The Kwakiutl Native People have lived in the area for thousands of years.

The township started as a Forest Ranger Station. Pictographs, burial sites and shell middens offer a glimpse of Coast Salish culture and history. While far from the city, all the modern conveniences are available here. There are many channels and fjords for cruising and fishing, kayaking, wildlife watching, exploring and photographing. Echo Bay has a grocery store, Post Office and accommodations, including moorage.
