Gibsons is the gateway of the Sunshine Coast and is located just a short drive from the Langdale ferry terminal. Langdale is a scenic 40 minute ferry ride from Horseshoe Bay. There are two commercial areas in Gibsons: one located in Upper Gibsons along Highway 101 and there is also the picturesque village of Gibsons Landing.

Surrounded by mountains and ocean, the historic working harbour of Gibsons Landing is a great place to explore on foot. Enjoy strolling on the refurbished public wharf and promenade. Visit the Winegarden Waterfront Park and the Wharfinger Building. Gibsons Landing will be familiar to those who saw the acclaimed TV series, "The Beachcombers" which was set here. Shops, galleries, bookstores, markets and restaurants make Gibsons Landing an enjoyable place to explore.

There is a restored Heritage Theatre used for the cultural activities of the community. Gibsons hosts a variety of special events including workshops, festivals (Gibsons Jazz Festival, Fibre Arts Festival) and the International Outrigger Canoe Iron Race.

The Sunshine Coast Museum and Archives provide a collection of materials that includes First Nations, maritime and pioneer artifacts.
