Accommodations Sunshine Coast with Local Travel Information

In 1925, Harry Roberts of Roberts Creek created a brochure in which he claimed there was "Sunshine and Sea-charm along Holiday Shores on the Gulf Coast." From this, the term Sunshine Coast was coined.

The Sunshine Coast's largest communities are Powell River, Pender Harbour, Sechelt (pronounced 'sea-shelt') and Gibsons.

Other unique communities include Lund and Egmont which offer many seaside attractions.

The Sunshine Coast has more sunshine than Vancouver, but less than Victoria.

Gibsons was the location for the BC's most successful television show, the Beachcombers.
