Roberts Creek is the most unconventional community along the Sunshine Coast. It is full of offbeat "hippy" types, rambling gardens and is home to many artisans. It is also the location of one of Sunshine Coast's fine golf courses, the Sunshine Coast Golf and Country Club, where visitors are welcomed.

Cliff Gilker Regional Park offers fantastic hikes on well maintained trails through towering cedars. Roberts Creek Provincial Park and Francis Point Provincial Park are both worth seeing. The latter was recently purchased by the Nature Conservancy of Canada and the Nature Trust of BC. It has an unusual dry maritime climate and low elevation forest containing plants and shrubs that grow only here and on the eastern edge of Vancouver Island.
