Visitors to this popular recreational area find a variety of Kamloops accommodations
from which to choose. Kamloops is located 325 km (202 mi.) from Vancouver at
the junction of the North and South Thompson Rivers.
Kamloops is the major commercial centre for the south-central Interior of British Columbia and is the third largest community outside the lower Mainland. This city began during the 1860s Gold Rush. At that time the cattle industry was established to feed the miners and the railway camps. Kamloops grew with the building of the Canadian Pacific Railway through the community in 1885
and it became a railway divisional centre.
Agriculture and cattle ranching have both played major roles in the community's history. Tourists to the city can enjoy several championship gold courses in summer and major ski resorts in the winter. There is also great trout fishing and trail riding in the area. Kamloops Hotels cover all types for all tastes.
Kick back, breathe deep and unwind in a magnificent wilderness setting. Roche Lake is the home to the famous Kamloops Rainbow Trout.
Our Kamloops campground has both tent camping and larger RVs and is equipped with water, electrical and sani-dump systems for RVs and offers large, shaded areas along the S. Thompson River for tent campers. All guests have access to our washrooms and laundromats so you’re able to clean up after a long day of adventuring. Daily, weekly and monthly rates are available for both tent and RV sites.
