Okanagan Falls BC is located at the south end of Okanagan Lake, 28 km (18 mi.) south of Penticton. It is named for the falls which once existed at the southern tip of Skaha Lake. Today they are merely rapids, due to a dam constructed to manage the water flow into Okanagan River.

Surrounded by the Cascade and Columbia Mountains with their spectacular high peaks, the scenery in this area is breath-taking. Vineyards abound and some of the finest wines in BC are produced near this community.

There are a number of major parks in the vicinity and Apex Mountain Resort is a major destination for skiers and snow-boarders in winter and hikers and mountain bikers in summer. Golfing, camping, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, wildlife viewing and bird watching are all popular here.

Recently a trestle and trail was constructed to connect the town of Okanagan Falls to the historic Kettle Valley Railway bed. This lovely trail winds beside Skaha Lake, and through Kaledon en route to Penticton. Access to the trail is through Lions Gardens in Okanagan Falls.
