Sicamous Accommodations
Sicamous British Columbia Travel Information
Come and visit the Houseboat Capital of Canada!
Sicamous is a small community of about 3000 people located on the Trans-Canada Highway at the eastern edge of Shuswap Lake, between Salmon Arm and Revelstoke. Each year more than three hundred houseboats are rented to vacationers on Shuswap Lake.
This community began in the 1880s and grew with the construction of the Canadian Pacific Railway. It was a key junction in the rail line and as an important paddle wheeler connection for the Okanagan and the Kootenays.
The word 'Sicamous' comes from the Shuswap First Nations term for 'narrow'. There are First Nations pictographs along the shores of Mara and Shuswap Lakes. There are many tourist attractions in the area and golf, downhill and cross-country skiing, swimming, boating and canoeing are all popular activities.
There are several Provincial Parks to explore in the vicinity. Come and enjoy Sicamous accommodations for Sicamous winter or summer fun.
