The Municipality of Delta BC incorporates three main communities: North Delta, Ladner and Tsawwassen. Delta BC is about 40 minutes south of Vancouver on the Fraser River. Known for its beautiful landscapes formed by the Fraser River, Delta lies between the US border and the district of Surrey.
Ladner started as a fishing village and sits on the banks of the Fraser River.
Tsawwassen is a major community, located on the southwest corner of the municipality of Delta. You can access the land and ocean locked community of Point Roberts USA via Tsawwassen's main street.
North Delta is the most populous of the three communities and is home to Burns Bog, a peat bog unique to urban areas.
Farming and dairy farming remains the major industries in the area.
BC Ferries have a major terminal at Tsawwassen, giving access to Victoria and Nanaimo on Vancouver Island and to the Gulf Islands.
There is a superport designed for the shipment of coal located at Roberts Bank. Popular tourist attractions include the Burns Bog and the Riefel Bird Sanctuary, Boundary Bay Regional Park, beautiful beaches and first class shopping.
Delta BC accommodations include an incredible selection of hotels, motels, bed and breaksfasts and campgrounds.
