Fishing Paradise on North Central Vancouver Island has a variety of terrain which provides many opportunities for recreation. The towns of Comox and Courtenay are about 30 km (18.75 mi.) from the Mt. Washington ski area, which is the busiest winter sport area after Whistler.
Campbell River is big on fishing and is the gateway to Quadra Island, which is steeped in First Nations heritage, including ancient petroglyphs.
